Sign Language Interpreter at Madiba's Memorial: a fraud?

It seems that Thamsanqa Jantjie, the sign language interpreter who worked at the memorial service for Nelson Mandela on 10th December 2013 in Johannesburg and appeared publicly in the whole world did not use any known sign language, thus depriving thousands of deaf of their right to information and communication.

See the various reactions from the Deaf community, the Sign Language Interpreters Associations and the press throughout the world.

So far, we have not been informed about any official statement from the memorial organisers.

On Cape Talk Radio, several interviews, including Thamsanqa Jantjie' reply, are available (Thank you to the journalist for asking the right questions).
